Alyssa's Triumph

I am so proud to announce that my amazing middle schooler made the high school color guard! Out of 42 students that auditioned (7-12th grade), only 26 were selected. Way to go, Alyssa!

We were both pretty excited that she was assigned to be #13 for the auditions.... I took it as a good sign....I have been enamored with the number 13 since second grade, when my teacher told us that, in some superstitions,13 was an "unlucky" number, and that we should be leery of Friday the 13th. Being one of those people, I of course decided that 13 was my favorite number! (Who, me? Passive aggressive? NEVER!!) Alyssa was extra thrilled, since she just turned 13! :)
